About
Dog Leg Media is owned by Andrea Stewart - an award-winning
documentary filmmaker and writer.Andrea has a strong background in research from over twenty years of experience as a writer, director and producer. She has written, produced and story edited numerous factual television and feature documentary projects on topics ranging from science to social justice and human interest for such broadcasters as Amazon, Vice, Discovery, PBS, Vision, CTV and CBC. Though Dog Leg Media Inc. she produced, directed and wrote her first feature documentary 'SUN DOGS', which was distributed by Palm Pictures and premiered at Cinevegas 2006 (World) and Reel World 2006 (Canada).
She was also the co-creator and executive producer of SESQUI, a multi-faceted immersive project created for Canada 150, experienced by over 1.6M people in 2017, and reaching global audiences in dome theatres around the world in the years since. SESQUI has been nominated and won multiple awards for Best Immersive Experience.Andrea has written scripted content for TLC, TVO Kids and Heritage Minutes, in addition to feature projects. Andrea is National Screen Institute Features First alumna, a Semi-Finalist for the prestigious Academy Nicholl Fellowship and holds a B.A.A in Photographic Arts (Honours) from Toronto Metropolitan University where she was recipient of the Norman Jewison Filmmaking Award and Leonard Foundation Scholarship.
